Eastern Shoshone Indian Days Pow-wow

The Eastern Shoshone tribe hosts one of the biggest powwows in Wyoming, which is a highlight in June. This event is a time for the community to come together to celebrate, dance, heal, enjoy delicious food, and admire authentic crafts created by talented individuals from the Wind River Indian Reservation and surrounding areas.

The spiritual significance of powwows lies in their connection to the circle of life. Dancing is seen as a form of prayer and an expression of love for the community, allowing individuals to convey their emotions and support those in need. People dance for others or themselves, reflecting a long-standing tradition and deep history of what powwows represent.
